Wogen’s overarching governance and direction is guided by the board of directors at the group level – Wogen Limited. However, the day-to-day management of the company, and its subsidiaries, is conducted by:
Alex has been with Wogen for over 20 years, 15 of which have been in China & Hong Kong. He worked closely with his father Colin (one of Wogen’s 2 founders) on titanium sponge, and moved upstream to focus on mineral sands.
Over the years he has traded many of the speciality metals and today focuses on mineral sands and monazite, a rare earth raw material.
Alex is Chairman of the group’s key operating companies and leads the company’s sales & distribution agency businesses.

Adam Greenwood is the Company Secretary for the Group and a member of the Audit and Executive Committees of Wogen Ltd. Having joined Wogen in 2006, Adam now serves as a Director of Wogen Services Ltd. In addition to his Company Secretarial duties, he manages the Wogen Anniversary Trust and the Wogen Employee Benefit Trusts. His experience includes assisting international firms with UK market entry and acting as Finance Director for a group of EIS companies. As Wogen’s global presence expands, Adam’s ongoing mission is to ensure the Group’s corporate structure remains lean – ideally with fewer companies than employees.
Andy joined Wogen in 2011 as a graduate and focusses on the Ferro Alloys for the steel industry. He has managed several major sales and marketing agreements for Wogen within this sector. He is also active in trading various metals futures contracts.
He has a BA in Geography from the University of Oxford, an MSc in Energy, Trade & Finance from Bayes Business School, and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers.

Charles grew up in the Ivory Coast and the Philippines before earning a Geography degree from the University of Bristol. With a decade of experience in the commodity industry, he previously worked at a boutique logistics and commodity management company before joining Wogen in 2021.
At Wogen, Charles started in the shipping team and transitioned to the role of Trader in 2024. He specialises in Ores and Concentrates while also exploring new metals and minerals.
Charles Johnson trades in our London office in the following materials: Chromium, Niobium, and Tantalum.
Dan started his career in Vienna in 2012, learning the physical and derivative trade across pure metals, ores and concentrates. On returning to London in 2015, Dan worked in frontier market merchant banking, advising miners and consumers on structured royalty agreements, offtakes and pre-payments.
More recently Dan has been a Business Director in recycling and superalloys.
Dan is the serving Treasurer of the Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA) and is an Associate of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment.
Dan Bowman trades in our London office in the following materials: Niobium, Molybdenum Metal, Hafnium, Tantalum, Tungsten Metal, Tungsten Intermediates, Tungsten Ores and Concentrates, Tungsten Carbide and Rhenium.
Jack hails from Wales and joined Wogen in September 2015 in a shipping and logistics role before moving onto the trading desk.
Jack now runs the Cobalt and Manganese book here at Wogen, following work within the Ores and Concentrates business out of South Africa. Jack previously sat on the MMTA Warehouse Standards Committee and is a keen supporter of the Energy transition.

James Macfarlane is Wogen’s Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Executive, Risk and main Board Committees. Since joining Wogen in 2014, he has led the group’s financial strategy, funding and risk management, supporting Wogen’s growth in global commodities markets. A Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, James oversees groupwide reporting, capital allocation and banking relationships. He also works closely with the trading teams on structured commercial and financing solutions for customers and suppliers, helping to balance risk, liquidity and commercial opportunity.
John Craig is the Chief Executive Officer for the group and member of the Executive Committee. He joined Wogen in February 2015 having a background in Banking, FX and Funds with extensive experience in Strategy, Finance and Operations. John is an MBA graduate of Imperial College, London.
John grew up in Johannesburg, South Africa and remembers well a visit to Western Deep Levels gold mine which involved a drop to the working areas at 2,000m, piquing his interest in commodities. He settled in London in the 1990’s and has worked on the international stage ever since.
John loves all things rugby and is a past Chairman of both the minis and youth sections at Cobham Rugby Club.
Kenta has over a decade of experience in customer facing metals and minerals trading. After completing a Bachelor of Commerce at Macquarie University in Sydney, he worked in the Australian market before joining Wogen in 2017.
Japanese by background, Kenta has lived in four countries and now supports Wogen’s Asia business, specialising in battery metals and molybdenum trading from the Hong Kong office.
Kenta Brown trades from our Hong Kong office in the following materials: Lithium, Molybdenum and Graphite.
Laura joined Wogen in 2010 and became a Director in 2017. She trades a broad range of speciality metals serving sectors such as aerospace, electronics, and lightweighting.
Laura has also represented Wogen on the Board of the Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA), where she served as Treasurer. With her strong industry insight and customer-focused approach, she helps connect global suppliers and end users in the evolving minor metals markets.
Laura Bell trades in our London office in the following materials: Chrome Metal, Bismuth, Indium, Magnesium, Molybdenum Metal, Silicon, Tantalum and Rare Earth elements.
Nick joined Wogen in 2011 after 4 years at Citigroup focusing on Trade Finance in the Middle East and North Africa, based in Lebanon, Jordan and Dubai.
After joining Wogen, Nick set up our office in Istanbul, Turkey. Nick has been a Director of Wogen since 2015 and spearheads the Ores and Concentrates team. He oversees our South African operations, being a key sourcing location for Chrome Ore.
Nick specialises on Antimony metal ingots that are an essential ingredient for flame retardants and lead acid batteries.
Nick Cartwright trades in our London office in the following materials: Chromium, Antimony Metal, Antimony Concentrate and Antimony Trioxide.
Robert trades PGMs and a range of other critical metals.
He joined Wogen’s London office after graduating from Durham University (Modern European Languages degree) in 2008. Robert also spent time based in Brazil (2010 – 2014) developing business for Wogen in South America.
Robert is a director of Wogen Limited and the company’s charity arm: the Wogen Anniversary Trust. He also sits on Wogen’s Executive Committee.
