Since the early 1970’s Wogen has conducted its business through Wogen Resources Ltd (based in London) and Wogen Pacific Ltd (based in Hong Kong). In the mid 2000’s we set up a Chinese wholly-owned subsidiary (called Wogen Metal Commercial Shanghai) which carries out domestic trade inside China in RMB – something still not many foreign companies can do. In 2009, Wogen Resources South Africa Ltd was incorporated as a trading company in order to purchase raw materials from the region. More recently (in December 2011), our Russian domestic trading company ‘Wogen Metals LLC’ was incorporated, advantageously equipped to buy and sell in local currency.

During the commodities boom of the 2000’s Wogen listed on the AIM market in London. Due to the difficult market conditions and illiquidity in the trading in the company’s shares, 4 years later the management team (under the title Sanctuary Partners) completed a buy-out which now sees the company once again wholly owned by its employees.

The last three years in particular has seen the company focus on the transition of knowledge from the older generation to the younger as the company prepares with gusto for the years ahead. Damian Brousse has taken over the helm as Managing Director of Sanctuary Partners Ltd and Wogen Resources Ltd. Ross Sabberton has relocated to Hong Kong as Managing Director of our Asian businesses and has now been joined by Alex Williams. Robert Wallace has relocated to Brazil to make the most of the opportunities the dynamic South American continent has to offer and furthermore we have opened offices in the Ukraine, Turkey and Vietnam.

Whilst Wogen Resources and Wogen Pacific are our flagship trading companies, the ultimate holding company and supervisory board is Sanctuary Partners Ltd with Tony Shearer as non-exec Director and our Founder Colin Williams, non-exec Chairman.

What next? Rare Earths? Mineral Sands? Super alloys? Precious metals? Ferro alloys? Minor metals? Electronic metals?

You name it Wogen will be there.
